YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT MOMENT IF…

01

You’ve been running on autopilot, moving from task to task, caring for everyone else, but struggling to feel truly present in your own body.

02

You’ve tried to slow down, but the moment you do, the thoughts get louder and the tension returns. So you keep moving—hoping eventually it will all feel better.

03

You’ve read the self-help books. Listened to the podcasts. Maybe even go to yoga class. But deep down, you know what you’re really craving is time away, space to breathe, and a way to truly come home to yourself.

04

You fall into bed each night wondering if there’s more—more ease, more purpose, more connection—and if you’ll ever feel it again.

05

You want clarity. You want softness. You want to feel like you again.

If this is you...keep reading. The experience you’ve been waiting for is here.

You know there’s a deeper version of you (wise, grounded, radiant) just beneath the surface, but you haven’t had the space to fully access her...

What if you spent your mornings with the ocean as your soundtrack and the sun warming your skin—moving, breathing, being?

What if your body felt like a trusted friend, not a project to fix?

What if you remembered that softness is strength—and felt safe enough to truly rest?

What if you could move through your days with clarity, ease, and self-trust?

What if, in just one week, you reclaimed the version of you that’s been whispering beneath the surface?

What if you stopped bracing... and started living from your center?

What if it could feel different? There’s a BETTER way!

You don’t need more willpower or another to-do list.

You need time, space, and the right container to help you listen without distraction.

That's why I created Becoming the Embodied WomanA 7-night / 8-day women's yoga, meditation & nature retreat in the heart of Sri Lanka.

$500 deposit holds your spot

Hi! I'm abigail: Yoga teacher, retreat leader, stroke survivor

After surviving a stroke, I had to relearn how to walk and how to trust my body again. Yoga wasn’t just part of my healing; it was my path back to wholeness.

I created this retreat not just for rest, but for remembrance and reconnection. To remember that your breath is sacred, your body is wise, and you’re meant to live in deep connection with yourself, your purpose, and the earth.

With over 20 years of experience, I’ve taught thousands of students and certified hundreds of teachers through my Yin and Adaptive Yoga Teacher Trainings. I'm an E-RYT500, Yin500, and lifelong student of anatomy, fascia, and biomechanics (with a not-so-secret love for rituals, nature, and banana chocolate bread).

This retreat blends stillness and movement, ritual and adventure, science and soul. It’s not about escaping your life, it’s about returning to it with more clarity, capacity, and calm.

You don’t need to push harder. You need space to listen deeper, move with meaning, and come alive to your own rhythm.

And I’ll be right there with you.

retreat love

Going on a retreat with Abigail is pure magic. I have attended multiple of her retreats because I am just so deeply in love with the way she facilitates! It’s the perfect blend between structured and flexible, which is ideal in a retreat setting. Her attention to detail is unmatched and the warm, grounding energy she brings is exactly what most of us need. I specifically love how knowledgeable she is about various topics (like Chinese medicine and tea!) and how willing she is to immerse her attendees in these things. If I am feeling the craving to go on a retreat, I always check with Abigail first to see if she is hosting any soon. I know that if she is facilitating, then I have a safe and fertile space to thrive and grow in and that is invaluable in my opinion!

where you'll stay

FAQ

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY RETREAT PRICE?

Transportation from the airport to the retreat center on arrival, from the retreat center to the airport on departure, and all local travel for retreat events. Three meals a day, retreat activities (yoga, workshops, nature excursions, tea ceremony, cultural events)

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED?

Airfare to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Extra activities not on the retreat itinerary such as massage. Alcohol. Gratuities for retreat staff and excursion guides. Travel insurance.

WHAT ARE RETREAT ROOMS LIKE?

Each room includes a private bathroom, king-size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and small fridge. You’ll also have a desk, hanging space, and shelves to unpack and settle in. Double occupancy rooms include one shared bed for two guests booking together.

WHAT IS CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT TIME?

Most flights arrive in Colombo between 1–3 AM. We’ll pick you up for the 2-hour drive to the retreat center, where you can check in right away on the morning of March 18. Check-out is the evening of March 25, with transport back to the airport in time for most late-night departures.

DO I NEED TO BRING CASH?

Yes. While most of your retreat is covered, you’ll need cash for optional extras like massages, laundry, snacks, or tipping staff and guides. We recommend bringing $100–$150 USD in Sri Lankan Rupees, with smaller bills for convenience. You can also charge extras to your room and pay by cash or card at checkout. ATMs are nearby if you need more during your stay.

WHAT ARE TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS TO SRI LANKA?

You’ll need a valid passport with at least 6 months before expiration and a tourist visa to enter Sri Lanka. Most travelers (including from the USA and EU) can get a free visa on arrival, but we recommend applying online in advance at srilankaimmigration.org for faster entry.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your retreat investment. Companies like Travel Guard and Trawick offer policies that can cover trip cancellations (including “Cancel For Any Reason” coverage), travel delays, lost or stolen items, and emergency medical care while abroad. Be sure to review the policy details carefully and choose the coverage that best fits your needs. It’s a smart way to travel with confidence and peace of mind.

What’s your cancellation and refund policy?

A non-refundable $500 deposit is required to secure your spot. Due to the nature of retreat planning, all payments become final, non-refundable, and non-transferable after January 1, 2026.

We have never felt so warmly welcomed and integrated before. We owe this to the wonderful efforts that all Ocean Life Surf & Stay team members put into their guests. Starting with the always extremely friendly and attentiveness at all times, through the unrestricted willingness to help with all questions and concerns, to the admirable dedication with which everyone lives their task in the surf stay.

This retreat was a perfect, rejuvenating escape.  Surrounded by stunning natural beauty it offered a peaceful space for learning, healing, and practicing yoga and breath.  The food, education, activities were phenomenal.  An experience to nourish both body and soul. I can’t wait for the next retreat.

Meet Your Hosts at Ocean Life Surf & Stay

Shannon & Imke
The soul of surf + the heart of the kitchen

Shannon, a South African surf coach turned tropical local, traded cold-water waves for boardshorts and sunshine. For him, surfing is more than sport—it’s a practice in presence, patience, and self-trust. Whether you're brand new or finding your flow, his grounded, playful energy makes the ocean feel like home.

Imke came to Sri Lanka for a change of pace—and never looked back. Surfing helped her reconnect to herself and let go of the pressure to force life forward. Now, she channels that ease into the kitchen, where she and a team of local women create meals full of flavor, heart, and soul (banana chocolate bread and curry nights are legendary).

Together, they’ll welcome you with warmth, feed you well, and help make this retreat smooth, nourishing, and unforgettable.

You’re in good hands—on land and in the sea.

This is your moment…

You can keep pushing through—tired, disconnected, and wondering when you’ll feel like you again...

Or you can pause. Breathe. And step into a week designed to help you come home to your body, your clarity, and your aliveness.

This retreat isn’t just a getaway. It’s a guided return to your body, your clarity, and your aliveness—through movement, stillness, sisterhood, and soul-led adventure.
